CLASSIFICATION TITLE: ICT Technician I Job Duties
DEFINITION
Under supervision, performs basic installation of telecommunication duties; performs other related duties as required.
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO
Lead/Senior Technician on project site. May receive assignments from senior support personnel as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Any one position may not include all the listed duties, nor do all the listed duties include all task which may be found in positions within this classification).
• Assist lead in all aspects of jobsite/project as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of work area
• Installation of all cables- voice, data, audio-video, security, and Electrical
• Dress cable in ceiling, IDF, MDF, and cabinets
• Terminate jacks
• Test and label cables
• Troubleshoot infrastructure if needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• High school diploma or GED
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Lift up to seventy-five pounds (75) unassisted
• Must be able to sit, stand, climb, walk (on uneven terrain), bend, stretch, kneel, and stoop for an extended period of time
• Ability to work with exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat or cold
• Ability to work at heights and aloft on ladders
• Ability to work in confined spaces as well as isolated areas
ADDITONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Valid driver’s license with no moving violations or infractions in the past three (3) years.
• Occasional out-of-town travel and overnight travel may be necessary
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have basic hand tools:
• Wire cutter, snips/scissors, socket screwdriver and heads, punch down tool, small basic hand drill, sharpie, pen, pencil, needle nose pliers, precision screwdriver set, flashlight, small tool bag, and level
• Ability to work extended hours when required.
